Montford Bridge - Ironbridge
Make no mistake this trip isn't for the faint-hearted! At 18 miles on the first day and 16 on the second, it's a long way.
We recommend you start this trip at 8 - 8:30am on day 1. Here you will set off from our centre at Montford Bridge and head down through some beautiful English countryside past the confluence of the River Perry and towards the historic medival town of Shrewsbury. Here you can grab a bite to eat from one of the great riverside cafes and pubs as you go through.
In Shrewsbury you will need to carefully portage (carry the boat) around the weir in town and head on down towards the National Trust campsite at Attingham Park for the night.
On day 2 you will have a slightly shorter day of 16 miles. The river descends into the Ironbridge gorge via a series of gentle rapids and large meanders. You will pass a series of iconic bridges and landmarks and finish in central Ironbridge.
It is advisable that people going for this route have some experience due to the distance. You will also need to consider what camping equipment and supplies you will need along the way as although the campsite has facilities there are few places you can stock up. We will of course provide barrels for you to put your kit in along with dry bags for your valuables.
Transport and parking is all included in the cost.
£30 per person per day
Why not try a different section of the River Severn....
