Llandrinio - Shrewsbury
Setting out from the 18th century Llandrinio bridge which is surrounded by WW2 history, you will encounter a small but enjoyable rapid which gives you a taste of what is to come in the first few miles. The river is narrow and windy for the first section. Here will have numerous trees to avoid and little rapids to navigate until the confluence of the River Vrnwy meets the Severn just before Crew Green bridge, a converted WW2 railway bridge. You have the option of stopping by the Royal Hill pub for lunch before setting off again towards Montford Bridge your camping spot for the night, which is conveniently placed next to the Wingfield Arms pub.
Day 2 is a little shorter and provides a slightly easier day for your crew,. Setting off from camp you head downstream past the confluence of the Perry and into Shrewsbury, it's best to pack a picnic for lunch for this day as there are no pubs en route so we have placed a picnic site roughly half way along.
You meet us at Montford Bridge for this trip meaning you can leave all of your camping equipment here, and you only have to carry the bare minimum with you in the canoes.
Camping costs £6 per person and has good showers available onsite!
£30 per person per day
Why not try a different section of the River Severn....
